The Ian M Hassett Foundation began with a BBQ, then grew into scholarships, then the Artist Exchange and we just keep expanding. Please look around and find information about the Foundation, how to apply for our grants & awards, view Ian's art, find out the latest on our annual fundraiser, Form Over Function and learn about (or for those who knew Ian, remember) the unique individual he was. This is our son, Ian.....and this is his story.

Mission Statement: To encourage emerging artists to continue to purse their passion to create art through painting, drawing, ceramics, digital works and sculpting using scholarships, grants, awards or programs that support the art community.
What started with a simple wish to begin a scholarship in Ian's memory grew into much more than we could have anticipated. In addition to the $1,000 art scholarship offered to local High School Seniors, we will also be awarding a $1,000 art grant through the Santa Maria Art Council Grant Showcase each May. We have also expanded our Programs to include the Artist Exchange, UnSeen No More gallery shows, the stART - Igniting a Passion for Art programs for adults with disabilities and partnering with other art organizations to sponsor student mentorship classes in the Santa Maria Valley
In order to have more control over the scholarship and grant, we formed the Ian M Hassett Foundation. The Foundation was officially recognized by the state of California on June 12, 2013 (almost one year following Ian's death).
If you would like to support the Foundation with a tax-deductible donation, please use the Donate button.
The Ian M Hassett Foundation is a 501(c)3 organization.
Ian was eclectic in art, ranging from drawing, ceramics, mixed media and sculpture.
